A thousand apologies for not updating this journal sooner. It has been an intense few days. This is a quickie update, I will have a more detailed report this evening.
Harvey’s CMV infection is finally under control. The viral titer has come down from more than 2,000 to a mere 200. He will continue with the intravenous gancyclovir for a while longer, just to be on the safe side.
The fevers were spectacular for a while. But now we seem to have a handle on how to control them - good old prednisone. More on that later.
Spring has sprung in Minneapolis and it is a wonderful time of the year. For all of you who have stuck with us through thick and thin, my heartfelt thanks. You know that old saying, friends in need etc? We have been blessed in the number of people who chose to keep in touch with us during the dark days.
Be well,
Chaya

Frances Wonderful, wonderful news. May each day be more and more like a beautiful spring day for Harvey and you. Take care.
My thoughts have been with you during this time and praying you would get on top of this and I know I’m not alone. I’m so happy to hear the news. It is always nice to know that people care about you. Thanks for sharing your information to us. May this be the first of many good days ahead of you. Chaya, I’ve started the yogart with the probiotics and tried your recipe for Raita. It was great. Even my husband liked it and now I even make my manager eat it.
Sigh of Relief! Deep Relief, didn’t realize I had been holding my breath, thanks for sharing everything. Enjoy spring! love to you both, Wendy
Know that even in the darkest of times, there is light at the end of the tunnel. May your days now be full of light, hope, and the promise of a wonderful future. As always, you are both in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Whew! I am relieved and grateful to see this morning that Harvey’s infection is under control. Sometimes it would be nice if technology could include hugs with skin on (of course in Harvey’s case they would need to be sterilized)! Your selflessness and gifted writing - even during this difficult time - is our classroom, our lab, so to speak. Thank you. Thank you for being truthful when it’s tough. You are empowering us “CLLers” BEYOND words.
With prayers from Canada,
mrh
YEAH! That is great news. May Harvey continue to get well so that you can enjoy the wonderful spring & the flowers there. Hugs & kisses to both of you. We are so happy that everything is finally getting better.
Lots of love
Healing thoughts and prayers continue to come “Harveys” way Chaya!!! Have you ever heard of a pro-biotic drink called Kefir by Lifeway? Many supermarkets and most health food stores carry it in quart bottles. It has many more gut friendly bacteria’s in it than yogurt. I drank 6 oz a day to ward off the awful gastro-intestinal distress (putting it mildly lol) from weeks of chemo and radiation. Eileen
We are getting ready to celebrate with you in the Far North of the South South Pacific…sooner than later!!! So happy…
Glad to read the good news. You’ve made it an even more beautiful day here in Minneapolis. Jim
And a huge collective sigh of relief went around the community…:))
